Black Families Connect
OUR MISSION
The program Black Families Connect (formerly Parenting Black Children) mission is to support the Black/African American family and those who love and care for children/persons with developmental disabilities. BFC mission is to CONNECT SUPPORT EDUCATE 2 EMPOWER families.
Black Families Connect accomplishes its mission through three primary programing areas:
- Parent Support - which include Wellness Checks, 1 on 1 support, and monthly support groups and activities.
- Community Outreach/Awareness Activities - physical outreach events, social media, community presentations, & monthly Resource Newsletters
- Systemic Change/Diversity Awareness - Cultural Humility Workshops series, community presentations
